About Us

VTESS was established as a small business enterprise by Robin Griffin in 2017.

Robin is passionate about education and has a strong interest in the impact teachers have on student learning. He has seventeen years’ experience working in government schools in teacher and leadership roles. In addition to his work in schools, he has spent time as an adult educator working with Aboriginal corporations in South Australia and Northern Territory.

In his previous career within a government business enterprise, Robin implemented a suite of induction, leadership and change management programs.

As a Master in Education - Educational Leadership graduate, Robin enjoys the challenge of school improvement and working with teams to empower them to make the changes that are needed to support them in their implementation of the Australian Teacher Standards.

Robin also takes interest in educational research to improve teacher practice and improve student learning outcomes. Current research (Tom Brunzell, Lea Waters, and Helen Stokes, Melbourne University), claim combining trauma- informed approaches with positive psychology will empower and enable teachers to promote both healing and growth in their classrooms. VTESS endorses the scientific and practice-based evidence presented. Teachers at VTESS, take pride in their holistic approach to education. VTESS assists struggling students by building student positive emotions, character strengths, resilient mindsets, and gratitude, and facilitate opportunities for these to be embedded beyond tutorial support and into daily classroom routines.
